Katherine Allen received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University and is a clinical member of AAMFT and a current Board member of CTAMFT. She is a certified STEPS facilitator and PEP instructor and is a trained domestic violence clinician, and is licensed in the state of Connecticut.
As a family therapist, Katherine brings a compassionate, open and direct approach to her work. She has extensive experience working with couples, families and individuals dealing with family violence, addiction, emerging from trauma, grief and loss, eating disorders, parenting and custody plans. She also enjoys nurturing personal accountability in her clients. In this spirit, Katherine approaches all of her clients with a "stuck, not sick" philosophy.

Katherine sees families as the most important thing that we are a part of yet we get almost no training on how to be a family member. Family is the toughest and the best thing we will ever do and that is why she loves helping families of all shapes and sizes learn new skills and tools to achieve balance and peace.
