Valerie Le Cann Jones, LMFT has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Union College. Valerie is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the International Association of Trauma Professionals. In addition to private practice, Valerie works as the Survivor Care Navigator at the Newtown Center for Support and Wellness.
It’s Valerie’s philosophy to work with the entire family in the therapeutic relationship–helping clients understand that their goals can be planned and achieved, as well as guiding them toward post-trauma growth.
Valerie has extensive experience in substance abuse, behavioral health, and domestic violence. She has witnessed the devastating results of trauma, both in her family of origin and as a member of the Sandy Hook, CT community.
Valerie also works with individuals who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and families who have been advised to undergo testing for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Additionally, she helps families and individuals who want to build a family using third party parenting techniques, either as a result of infertility or in the case of same-sex couples.
Valerie is currently accepting Husky (Medicaid) insurance and self-pay clients. She will be at MFT3 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays and can be reached via e-mail (valerie [at] mft3 [dot] com), or by phone at 203-416-6008, x603.
